Gale & Bulai sign with Griffins for 2 more years

Press Release
(Allen, TX)
July 6th 2015 - As summer rolls on, Griffins Rugby continues to build and has announced the signing of two more players to professional contracts.

Chris Gale joined the Griffins two seasons ago from prestigious English club Preston Grasshoppers. A versatile and talented player, Gale has featured across the front row as well as at Number 8 and with his dynamic ball carrying, is one of the club’s leading try scorers.

Owner/Director Phil Camm explains the value Gale brings to the club, “He’s been key to our development over the last couple of years and brought a level of professionalism that helped to raise everybody else’s game. We’re obviously excited to have him on board as we continue to set new goals for the organization.”

Gale has signed a two year, part-time agreement to remain in Allen.

The second signing to be announced this week, on a two year full-time deal, is that of Inoke “Sweeper” Bulai.

Bulai just completed his second season with the Griffins, featuring consistently as 1st team scrum half and causing problems for defenses throughout the league.

“His work ethic has stood out!” explains Camm, “He’s a quiet, humble lad who just goes about his business and continues to improve. He’s getting stronger every week and once we get him training at The Den, I’d expect him to push for an Eagles jersey before too long.”

Griffins will continue to recruit throughout the summer for both professional and amateur players. The club recently announced a change at the top, with Elaine Vassie departing and a new Director of Rugby to be announced in the coming days. “We have a world class DoR coming in,” boasts Camm, “Our players will be exposed to a level of coaching that is hard to find in the US. None of our goals for professional rugby are achievable overnight but we’re getting there.”
