Texas A&M - Central Texas Launch's Men's & Women's Rugby

Press Release

The Pathway to collegiate athletics for Texas A&M University-Central Texas (TAMUCT) is set as plans were recently announced to begin club sport in the fall starting with both men’s and women’s Warrior Rugby.

A&M-Central Texas was founded in 2009 as a member of the Texas A&M University System. The University is a military friendly, upper-level institution offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees for life’s next chapter. The diverse student population at A&M-Central Texas is currently over 2,500 students and boasts a well-established and nationally awarded ROTC Program. The University works closely with regional community college partners through a Warrior Corps Agreement to facilitate a smooth transfer of credits and provide an accessible, affordable four-year education. Attending one of our partner community colleges through the Warrior Corp program and graduating from TAMUCT allows for one of the most affordable bachelor’s degrees in the state.

April 10-12, a kickoff Recruitment Weekend will be held in conjunction with Warrior Week at TAMUCT. If you are interested in learning more about TAMUCT, the City of Killeen, Warrior Rugby, and an affordable education, please contact Coach Dan Chase via email at RUGBY@TAMUCT.EDU and please enclose your player’s resume.

Any High School Junior/Senior (within 2 years of graduation) or college student interested in transferring to TAMUCT should come experience the weekend and find out about Warrior Rugby!

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Shilo Inn in Killeen. For reservations, please call 254.699.0999 and mention the Warrior Rugby Recruitment Weekend. The Central Texas Region is accessible by three convenient airports—Killeen (GRK), Austin (AUS) or Waco (ACT).
