Allen, TX, September 2014 - After playing in six IRB Sevens Tournaments for England in 2009, spending the last three seasons at flanker for the Worcester Warriors, and serving as the Warriors' representative on the board of the Rugby Players' Association, Jake Abbott has signed a three-year contract to play rugby full-time for Griffins Rugby in the Red River Rugby Conference.

Griffins Rugby are expected to issue a Press Release soon to announce the signing officially. With three full-time staff members - a Director of Rugby, a Head Coach, and a Strength & Conditioning Coach - the Griffins now boast four paid employees. The dream of a professional rugby club in Texas is moving from inception to reality and, by Griffins' Managing Director Phil Camm's reckoning, it's all according to a plan.
